PROTOTYPE RUBBER MOLDINGS

SEYBERT CASTINGS USES TWO PROCESSES TO MANUFACTURE PROTOTYPE AND SHORT-RUN QUANTITIES OF RUBBER PARTS, COMPRESSION MOLDING AND INJECTION MOLDING.

PROTOTYPE COMPRESSION MOLDING - WE MOLD MANY RUBBER MATERIALS SUCH AS SILICONE RUBBER, FLUOROELASTOMER, AND NITRILE (NBR). THE RUBBER IS COMPRESSION MOLDED IN INEXPENSIVE ALUMINUM TOOLING. THE TOOLING IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING THOUSANDS OF PARTS. HOWEVER, SINCE THE TOOLING IS INEXPENSIVE, IT IS AN ECONOMICAL SOLUTION FOR LOW VOLUMES. THE SILICONE RUBBER PRODUCED IN THIS PROCESS IS CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING UP TO 900°F FOR INTERMITTENT USE, AND UP TO 500°F FOR CONTINUOUS USE.

PROTOTYPE INJECTION MOLDING - USING PROTOTYPE PRESSES. WE MOLD MANY FLEXIBLE RUBBER AND THERMOPLASTIC URETHANE ELASTOMERS SUCH AS SANTOPRENE™ AND PELLATHANE™. ALUMINUM TOOLING IS USED FOR BEST RESULTS. SEE PROTOTYPE INJECTION MOLDING PAGE FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION.

SEYBERT IS A CUSTOM MANUFACTURER. WE MANUFACTURE TO MEET OUR CUSTOMERS REQUIREMENTS. POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS INCLUDE GASKETS AND SEALS, GROMMETS FOR STRAIN RELIEF, COVERS FOR PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD COMPONENTS DURING WAVE SOLDER AND CONFORMAL COATING, VACUUM PICKUPS FOR COMPUTER CHIP MANUFACTURING EQUIPMENT, AND NESTS TO FIXTURE PARTS.
